Wynyard Hall

A showcase of delicate artistry, The Gardens create a spectacular setting. With over 3,000 roses from floribundas and climbing roses, to the statement English rose, Wynyard Hall is set to be home to one of the largest rose gardens in the UK.

The Gardens have been intricately designed and created by multi RHS award-winning landscape architect Alistair baldwin, along with rose expert Michael Marriott from David Austin Roses, and our incredible team of gardeners here at Wynyard Hall.

In company with the roses, visitors will also discover a careful selection of flowers, shrubs, and trees, highlighted with graceful water features.

“It will be breathtakingly beautiful. No one will have seen anything like it, not on this scale” Alistair Baldwin – Alistair W Baldwin Associates Ltd.

The surrounding gardens have continued to evolve since the first development in 1822. For centuries to follow, they have provided a magical setting for Wynyard Hall.

Garden designer, William Sawrey Gilpin created the initial gardens and instilled gently curved flowerbeds, raised terrace walks, irregularly shaped shrubberies, and winding paths to create beautiful images within the landscape.

Current developments began with the dreams that Sir John Hall had for improving the Wynyard Hall Estate, and today we take immense pride in having worked to make these dreams a reality.
